Fogg turns down Rockies
Buster Olney is reporting that even after the Twins and Orioles have signed a veteran starter to fill holes in their rotation, Josh Fogg turned down a one-year, $5 million offer from the Rockies. Fogg is instead looking for a multi-year contract.
It was just a few days ago that Fogg told the Denver Post that the Rockies haven’t been in contact with him or his representatives about the team re-signing Fogg.
“I haven’t heard anything. They haven’t talked to us. Until they call, it’s probably not a possibility,” Fogg said Monday night.
If Fogg is holding out this late, still looking for a multi-year contract, he’s not likely to get it. Most teams have settled in with the guys they’re going to camp with at this point. If Fogg is to hold out until a starter gets injured during Spring Training, it’s still not likely that he will get more than a year on his contract.
