Yovani Gallardo of the Milwaukee Brewers is expected to miss four weeks following an arthroscopic surgery he is scheduled to have on Tuesday. If he were to return in four weeks, it would only give him two weeks before Opening Day, nearly assuring him of starting his season on the disabled list.

Atlanta Braves outfielder, Jeff Francoeur, spent the off-season working out with a personal trainer at a camp designed for football players preparing for the NFL combine. In his work, Francoeur added 17 pounds of muscle to his frame and is “noticeably more muscular in his shoulders, neck and legs.”
