Rowand pushing for Crede

You don’t have to go far inside the Giants clubhouse to find a supporter of Joe Crede. Aaron Rowand is hoping the team will look at acquiring Crede from the White Sox to replace Pedro Feliz, who left the team through free agency. Knowing the two are former teammates with the White Sox championship team in ‘05, the Giants approached Rowand about what they should expect should they acquire Crede.

He’s one of the most clutch hitters I’ve ever played with,” Rowand said. “I can’t tell you how many ballgames he won for us in ‘05. He makes adjustments, he hits home runs, he hits in the clutch and he plays Gold Glove third base.”

The problem is that the two teams really don’t match up in terms of striking a deal. The White Sox have expressed interest in Noah Lowry, but the Giants are unable to unload their third starter. The Giants top prospects were taken in the 2007 draft and would not be eligible to be traded until one-year after they signed.

  1. I’d like to see Josh Fields start at 3B.
