Chuck James likely headed to Triple-A

David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that Chuck James, recovering from a partially torn rotator cuff, will not make his Grapefruit League debut “around” March 15. Most starters normally pitch two innings in their debut and progressively build upon that.
If James were to start on the 15th, he’d only have two more starts to build up endurance before the beginning of the season, meaning he’ll most likely start the year at the Brave’s Triple-A affiliate in Richmond.
The vacancy in the rotation will be filled by one of Jair Jurrjens, Jo-Jo Reyes or Jeff Bennett. Jurrjens would seem to have the upper hand in the competition.

Chuck doesn’t have much endurance to start with!
Please be Jair!
