Tampa Bay Rays ace left hander, Scott Kazmir, was an early scratch from the team’s intrasquad game today. Kazmir left to get an MRI on his left elbow after feeling what “felt like a hyperextension” while warming up. Kazmir is confident that he’s not seriously injured but wanted to take precautions.
“It was just a little scary because I never felt it before,” Kazmir said. “But after I talked with (head athletic trainer Ron Porterfield) and everything and we did some of the strength tests I felt confident it would be all right. Just got to check it out just to make sure. I feel like I’ll be all right. Just precautions. They said there’s a couple minor things that could go on that are just really nothing.”
