The Marlins may be on a more serious hunt for Corey Patterson now, as Cameron Maybin left the team’s game today with a sore hamstring.
“We don’t know if it’s a pull or a cramp so we just took him out of the game,” said manager Fredi Gonzalez.
Maybin entered the game in the sixth inning, but left the game after reaching first base on a ground ball that went through Felipe Lopez’s legs.
Jayson Stark reported earlier today that the Marlins were in the hunt for Patterson as a way to not rush Maybin but feared his price would be too high, perhaps now that Maybin may be slowed with a hamstring injury, the price will seem more reasonable.
