Sidney Ponson is expected to throw in front of Cardinals scouts within the next week. Ponson pitched for the Cardinals in 2006, making 13 starts and one relief appearance to the tune of a 4-4 record and a 5.24 ERA.

Not that it’s much of a surprise, as they don’t really have any other choice, but Aaron Harang has been given the Opening Day assignment for the Reds. The Reds will take on the Diamondbacks on Opening Day, with Brandon Webb starting across from Harang.
It will be Harang’s third consecutive Opening Day start.
