Towles may miss upcoming week

Astros catcher J.R. Towles could miss most of this week due to a strained hamstring. Towles suffered the injury trying to run out a ground ball against the Braves on Saturday. The team has been advised by their trainer to keep Towles from participating in any “on-field activity for at least three days.”

“It could resolve itself in five days, or it could be a little longer than that,” Astros general manager Ed Wade said. “This time of spring we’ll probably be more cautious.”

The Astros will go with Brad Ausmus and Humberto Quintero at catcher while Towles is out.
