Mitre sidelined for two months

What’s new for the Marlins? One of their talented, young starters is on the shelf … again. Sergio Mitre will open the season on the disabled list, and will be out until late May, at best.
Mitre left the Marlins spring training camp on Wednesday to go see Dr. James Andrews. Andrews diagnosed Mitre with a right forearm strain and prescribed him rest, instructing the right hander to not throw for four to six weeks.
It’s not the first time Mitre has been hampered by injury. He missed seven starts last year thanks to a hamstring injury and only made just 15 appearances (seven starts) in 2006 due to right shoulder inflammation.
