White Sox asking price too high for Giants

Almost all winter, the Giants have been rumored to be after the White Sox Joe Crede, but it is now being reported that the Giants backed off the trade talks because the White Sox asking price was too high.

The Giants new center fielder, Aaron Rowand, is a former teammate of Crede’s as members of the White Sox has been pushing for the Giants to make a trade for Crede to fill their vacancy at third base left by Pedro Feliz leaving via free agency. The Giants reached out to fulfill Rowand’s wishes, but were met by a White Sox team looking for some of the Giants top pitching prospects, a commodity the Giants aren’t willing to move, at this point.
