Gallardo set for first game action

Yovani Gallardo, returning from arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, threw for 10 minutes during a simulated game on Tuesday, putting him on schedule to make his first spring training appearance on Friday.
“Everything is fine; I’m feeling good,” said Gallardo.
Gallardo’s spring training appearances are likely to take place in minor league games to provide the Brewers with flexibility with the disabled list. If he pitches in just minor league games, the Brewers could backdate the disabled list, whereas if he pitched in major league games, they could only make it retroactive to his final appearance.
The Brewers are hoping to have Gallardo ready to join the rotation in the middle of April.
