Red Sox to boycott Japan trip?

According to the Boston Herald, the Red Sox will be holding a players only meeting this morning to discuss whether or not the team should go to Japan. The meeting will center around the coaches not being paid the same $40,000 that is to be paid to the players for agreeing to go to Japan.

One Red Sox player said the original agreement made by the players included the coaches being paid the $40,000 for making the trip, as well.

It is expected that the outcome of the trip will be the demand that Major League Baseball pays the coaches, or they won’t board their plane later today.
