The 2008 baseball season is underway!
With this post, baseball season has begun! I’m up early to watch the Red Sox and A’s from Japan, and no, I’m not a fan of either team.
I’m anxious to see how the Japanese crowd welcome players like Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideki Okajima and Kurt Suzuki home.
Anything special you’re looking for out of today’s game? Other than wishing it could be played at 6 P.M. instead of in the A.M. so most of America would have an easier time of watching the game?
What about some things you’re looking for in 2008? Don’t forget to post your projections for the 2008 season!
UPDATE (6:08 AM): …just 8 minutes after ESPN hit the air, they announced that J.D. Drew is already hurt. It’s official … baseball season is here!
Filed under: Boston Red Sox, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideki Okajima, Kurt Suzuki, Oakland Athletics
Matsuzaka has already given up a homer. Mark Ellis doing the honor.
A’s leading 1-0 with only one out in the first.
After the homer, Matsuzaka has walked a guy, hit a guy, and walked another. The A’s have the bases loaded with just one out and Bobby Crosby at the plate with the chance to open it up early.
First HR of the year goes to Ellis. Not exactly the guy I thought would hold that title…
Matsuzaka is a mess so far. Hopefully the A’s can get some damage done here.
