UPDATE (4-2-08; 6:12 PM): According to Newsday, the Mets have just placed Pedro Martinez on the 15-day disabled list with his hamstring problem. They have called up Nelson Figueroa to take his place on the roster.
The Mets have not yet released any information regarding his MRI that he was scheduled to have today.

Eric Chavez will visit with the team’s orthopedist today for an evaluation of his lower back. Following the evaluation, the A’s will work up a plan for Chavez’s rehab if he’s cleared to resume baseball activities.
