Helms traded to the Marlins

It took just half a week, but the Phillies found someone to take Wes Helms off their hands before being stuck with their entire contract. Helms will return to the Marlins, the team he played for before signing with the Phillies as a free agent prior to last season, for a player to be named later or cash.

Helms will likely assume the role he had with the Marlins in 2006 when he split time between first and third base, playing mostly against left handed pitching.
