UPDATE (4-8-08; 5:43 PM): Young’s extension is worth $28 million over five years. Part of it will be paid in way of a $1 million signing bonus attached to this year’s salary. The team option is worth $11.5 million with a $1.5 million buyout.

Jimmy Rollins left the game early this afternoon after spraining his ankle in the top of the eighth inning. Rollins had to retreat to second for a number of bluffed pickoff attempts in the inning. Eric Bruntlett replaced him in the field in the bottom of the eighth inning.
