Everything so far regarding Nomar Garciaparra’s activation from the disabled list said it would come Friday. The Dodgers front office had a change of heart and decided he wouldn’t be any healthier on Friday than he was today. The team activated Garciaparra from the disabled list and sent Ramon Troncoso back to Triple-A.

UPDATE: It’s official. Soriano is headed to the disabled list. The Cubs brought Eric Patterson up instead of Murton, which may indicate how serious the injury is. One would think the Cubs wouldn’t promote Patterson for just a two week stay.
