Rockies get de la Rosa from Royals

The Rockies acquired Jorge de la Rosa from the Royals today as the player to be named in a trade the two teams made near the end of spring training. Along with de la Rosa, the Rockies were given about $200,000 to offset the salaries of de la Rosa and Ramon Ramirez, the player the Royals acquired at the end of spring training.

De la Rosa will just swap from one Triple-A club to the other for right now, but the Rockies appear to be set to call him up to make a start on Saturday.

The Rockies sent Franklin Morales to Triple-A yesterday, leaving a spot in their rotation open for the taking. For now, the thought is that de la Rosa will get the chance to grab the spot and run with it.
