Rockies to be without Tulowitzki utnil All-Star break
Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki underwent an MRI today on his sore left quad and it revealed a tear of the muscle that could keep the shortstop sidelined until the All-Star break.
Tulowitzki isn’t sure how long he’ll be out, just saying that it’s frustrating to have to sit. His agent, however, confirmed that his stay on the disabled list may be a lengthy one.
“It’s a complete tear, which obviously isn’t good news,” the agent said. “They don’t believe surgery is necessary, that it will be self healing. But it’s not something where he can come back in two to three weeks.”
Clint Barmes will play shortstop in Tulowitzki’s absence, though Omar Quintanilla and Jonathan Herrera could get some time there, as well.
