After a strong bullpen session on Monday, the Red Sox are thinking Bartolo Colon may be closer to their rotation than originally hoped. Colon threw 42 pitches in 11 minutes, mixing in changeups with his fastball during the final half of the session.

ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick is reporting that the Boston Red Sox and Bartolo Colon have reached an agreement on a minor league contract.
Colon will fight for a rotation spot in Spring Training as the Red Sox look to replenish their rotational depth after suffering the loss of Curt Schilling for at least half the season.
