All indications point to the Red Sox activating Mike Lowell from the disabled list prior to the start of Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays.
Lowell finished up a three-game rehab assignment yesterday, going 3-for-13 with three RBIs during the three games.
“I don’t have any pain,” Lowell said. “Overall, I feel pretty good. I passed the […]

Bartolo Colon suffered a strained muscle in his side, scratching him from a minor league start and sending him to the 7-day disabled list for the Triple-A team. The strain isn’t expected to be anything serious, but it does cause a bit of concern as the right hander is trying to make it back […]

When Bobby Kielty re-signed with the Red Sox, he did so thinking that the Red Sox may trade Coco Crisp, which would open up a spot for him as the team’s fourth outfielder. Now that a trade didn’t occur, Kielty is left looking for a new solution.
Kielty was reassigned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Saturday, […]

Today’s Winners:
Rich Harden - The often hurt starting pitcher showed a flash of his brilliance today. After giving up just one run over six innings, including nine strikeouts, against the defending World Champions, teams are going to be paying special attention to his starts from this point forward. He not only won […]

One of the features I’m going to try to implement each day — more than likely the next morning due to West Coast games — is a segment that I’m going to call “Winners and Losers.” What this will be is a blog entry that tries to highlight the days best and worst performances, […]

With this post, baseball season has begun! I’m up early to watch the Red Sox and A’s from Japan, and no, I’m not a fan of either team.
I’m anxious to see how the Japanese crowd welcome players like Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideki Okajima and Kurt Suzuki home.
Anything special you’re looking for out of today’s game? […]

Not much surprising news here, but Josh Beckett will be placed on the disabled list to give the team room to purchase the contract of Kevin Cash. Cash will likely serve as the personal catcher of Tim Wakefield this season.
Beckett’s DL stint will be retroactive to March 19, meaning Becket will be able to […]
