The Cleveland Indians have gone back to their roots of signing players before they reach arbitration. The latest player to do such is Fausto Carmona.

Indians manager Eric Wedge is optimistic that Victor Martinez will be back behind the plate for the team on Friday night as the team takes on Oakland. Martinez hasn’t started since leaving the Indians opener after straining a hamstring. He did appear as a pinch hitter in yesterday’s game, however.
