The Tigers activated centerfielder Curtis Granderson from the disabled list and immediately put him back in his customary leadoff spot. Clete Thomas was optioned to Triple-A to make room for him.

With the Tigers in desperate need of help, Curtis Granderson may be on the way. Granderson is going to start taking batting practice on Tuesday, by far the biggest step in his recovery from his broken hand.

Curtis Granderson had an X-Ray done on his broken hand today, which revealed sufficient healing and he was cleared to resume baseball activities. Granderson is now free to start swinging a bat, which will be the biggest test for the broken bone.
