Pirates give Mientkiewicz a minor league deal

The Pittsburgh Pirates and Doug Mientkiewicz agreed to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training. This move seems odd for Mientkiewicz, as his strong qualities equal that of the Pirates starting first baseman, Adam LaRoche.
