As expected, the Boston Red Sox activated Josh Beckett from the 15-day disabled list to make the start for the team today against the Blue Jays.
To clear a spot on the roster, the Red Sox designated Kyle Snyder for assignment.

Josh Beckett, who will begin the season on the disabled list, pitched four innings in a minor-league game today. In his four innings, he threw 47 pitches, allowed just an infield single and struck out six batters. He didn’t walk a batter in his appearance.

Not much surprising news here, but Josh Beckett will be placed on the disabled list to give the team room to purchase the contract of Kevin Cash. Cash will likely serve as the personal catcher of Tim Wakefield this season.
