The Mets have asked the Blue Jays about the availability of their two right handed hitting outfielders, Shannon Stewart and Reed Johnson. UPDATE (3-5-08; 7:10 PM): Moises Alou’s groin injury turns out to be that of a hernia. Alou will undergo hernia surgery and is expected to miss most, if not all, of the month of April.
Alou first injured the groin against the Braves on Monday, but the pain wouldn’t subside, leading to the examination today.
