Perez wins arbitration hearing

Oliver Perez won his arbitration hearing over the Mets after arbiters decided with Perez and his $6.5 million salary figure for 2008. The Mets submitted a figure of $4.725 million.
Perez was the first Mets’ player to reach an arbitration hearing since David Cone defeated the club in his 1992 hearing.

Mets sign Church, avoid arbitration

The Mets are down to just one player who is arbitration eligible after signing Ryan Church to a $2 million, one-year contract.
