Dmitri Young “experienced a sudden and dramatic breakthrough for his sprained lower back” after receiving a massage from the team’s massage therapist.
Young will now report to extended spring training on Sunday but still has no timetable for his return.

Chad Cordero’s injury woes continue to be a problem. As mentioned last night, Cordero left his appearance last night with an apparent injury. Today’s MRI confirmed that Cordero has an acute tear of the latissimus dorsi muscle.
The injury will keep Cordero out for at least four weeks and maybe up to 8 weeks. […]

Chad Cordero will be activated from the disabled list prior to Sunday’s game against the Braves. However, in a somewhat surprising move, Jason Bergmann was sent to Triple-A to make room for him.
